Optimizing Premium Floor Space: First Installation of Obsidian at The Henderson

When every square meter of office space in a CBD area carries a significant cost, reclaiming usable floor area without sacrificing acoustic performance, visual quality or employee well-being becomes a critical design priority. For a leading finance company at The Henderson in Hong Kong, this challenge defined the brief and led to the FIRST installation of JEB’s newly launched Obsidian pocket sliding door, supported by a carefully coordinated furniture solution across open work areas and huddle rooms.

The Solution: Obsidian Pocket Sliding Doors + Integrated Furniture

JEB Acoustic Partitions and Furniture teams addressed the brief with the first installation of the newly launched Obsidian pocket sliding door system. Unlike conventional hinged doors, Obsidian’s double-glazed panels glide fully into concealed wall pockets. Swing clearance is eliminated, returning usable floor area to the workplace while maintaining a clean, continuous aesthetic.
Engineered with precision batwing seals and lab-tested to STC 45, the system provides the acoustic integrity required for focused work and private conversations. The result is a high-performing boundary that disappears when not needed and delivers reliable sound control when closed.
Alongside the door system, JEB’s furniture team specified a coordinated selection for the open staff area and huddle rooms:

This combination supports both concentrated individual work and fluid team collaboration while reinforcing the overall spatial efficiency of the floor plate.
