Reused through Staff-Take-Home Programme

Description

One of our long-term partners, Hang Lung Properties, was eager to engage SOS service in which we supported with handling assets from the workspace reconfiguration in a sustainable manner over the past 2 years.

Through comprehensive services (staff take-home program, furniture repurposing & redistribution), we prevented waste and reduced their carbon footprint by 603,186 kg CO₂e. Among all the items, 35.2% were thoughtfully reused by our client in their new office.

Beyond environmental benefits, the project also had a positive social impact. The company generously donated 10.5% of chairs, desks, and storage units to 33 charities in Hong Kong, like SPCA and Crossroads Foundation. This donation empowers the organisation while demonstrating the Hang Lung’s commitment to social responsibility.

Every Furniture Deserves A Second Life - SPCA (Hong Kong)

Office relocations often lead to furniture and equipment being unnecessarily discarded. Instead of adding to landfill waste, consider giving these items a second life through donation . This simple act reduces waste, supports sustainable practices, and benefits the environment while aligning with your office’s ESG requirements, reflecting a strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility. SPCA (Hong Kong), one of the biggest non-profit animal welfare organisations in Hong Kong , recently revitalised its Wanchai centre and its new five-storey Tsing Yi facilities using furniture donated through SOS relocation projects. These contributions not only helped SPCA significantly reduce costs but also enabled them to allocate more resources to essential animal care services. Donating your used furniture creates functional, welcoming spaces for organisations like SPCA while minimising environmental harm and lowering your company’s carbon footprint.

At SOS, we go further by providing transparent, ISO-14064-2 verified reports to support your corporate sustainability reporting initiatives, ensuring accountability and fostering responsible practices. If your office is relocating, partner with SOS to maximise your social impact. By donating your furniture, you’ll not only support charities like SPCA but also receive a detailed impact report to enhance your sustainability reporting. Join SOS in building a more sustainable future. Let’s make every move meaningful!
