The millennial generation has been transforming the work environment and the way goals are being achieved. Millennials value their purpose in their work and the methods to bring out creativity and ideas. They enjoy working in a collaborative culture and are not afraid to share their thoughts and values. Advancements in technology have allowed them to work remotely in the same manners as they do in the office. Discover some of the changes that will continue to grow in the coming years:

Fuelled by Technology

Technology has played a crucial role in how communication is carried out through work and such tools have enabled millennials to collaborate and connect in a comfortable way that leads to increased productivity. According to a survey conducted by PWC, 41% of participants would rather communicate electronically than face-to-face or through the phone.

Millennials are very open-minded to diversity and different ideas. Their working style has led to a collaborative style where it stimulates communication and the flow of ideas. Collaborations in the workplace will continue to grow because it will speed up solutions, increase employee motivation, engagement and satisfaction.

Spatial Experiences

The way that millennials work has transformed the working environment. The millennial workforce is accustomed to connectivity and spatial thinking. They like to have interactions, visual information and shared knowledge. When compared with linear experiences, where progression is by step-by-step, spatial processes are more optimal and less constricted.

It has been forecasted that the 2020 workforce will comprise half of the American workforce and by 2025, 75 percent of the global workforce. As more millennials are joining the workforce, teams need to value the importance of collaboration and encourage it. Leaders need to enhancing collaboration software and offer greater transparency in the team’s objective.
